Los Angeles, CA -- "For Love Or Money 3" hunk Preston Mercer is facing reality -- he says he's now more skeptical in relationships than before the show.

Mercer says that the experience of the dating reality show was difficult because he was cut off from friends and family and unable to ask them for advice about possible mates.

Because Mercer had to fend for himself, he says he "...really looked into motives. I asked one girl a question and didn't like the way she answered. That went a long way towards my decision."

Mercer won't say if the show has led to a reality romance but says he now "knows who his true friends are."

"For Love Or Money 3" debuts Monday (Jun. 7) on NBC.
