Relationship Secret: Friendship With Benefits

San Diego, CA -- "If you can't be with the one you love, honey, love the one you're with," may be a line from an old 1970s song, but it's also a key to having a successful relationship.

According to Randy Hurlburt, author of a new book, "Love Is Not A Game" (Personhood Press), lots of men rush into relationships because they've been deprived of sex and, therefore, confuse infatuation with long-lasting chemistry.

Women do the same thing, except they are suffering from emotional deprivation.

Although the culture frowns on it, Hurlbert says the only solution is for men and women to date as many people as possible in order to learn what kind of partner works for them best.

Still, Hurlbert says sex and intimacy are crucial for human well-being so he advocates "interim sex" either with a prostitute or an old friend to stave off the loneliness between love affairs.

Hurlbert might be on to something. He's recently landed a beautiful woman 20 years younger than he is, and they're tying the knot next year.
