Denver, CO -- A hair-raising documentary in production now is exposing the "earliest remedy for baldness" -- the comb-over.

Producer Chris Marino says he's been obsessed with comb-overs for a long time because he's fascinated with the "level of denial" among balding men who comb their thinning locks over their bald spot.

He says most men are often hesitant to talk about their bad comb-over, and Marino was even punched in the face at a hotel in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, by a guest who didn't like being filmed.

In his words, "They think they're hiding it, but they're steeped in denial."

Marino says that while combing the country for subjects for his documentary, he's learned that New York is the hotbed for comb-overs. He guesses it might be because the city is home to many immigrants from cultures where the comb-over is common.

The documentary, "Combover: The Movie," will be finished this summer, and Marino hopes to have it premiere at the Sundance Film Festival next January.
