Kiddie Vitamin Claims It Can Boost IQ

Tempe, AZ -- The phrase, "you are what you eat" also applies to your brain, according to the folks behind a vitamin supplement for kids called "Feed My Brain."

Vitamin developer Dr. Alexander Schauss has spent more than 25 years formulating and testing the blend of 54 vitamins, minerals and whole food components, which he says has been shown to boost kids IQs by as much as 16 points.

In one study conducted in the Phoenix school system, 20 percent of the kids who took Feed My Brain gained 15.9 IQ points in four months.

Dr. Schauss says his own kids were the guinea pigs for the recipe and now, one of them is a 4.0 college student and the other is a promising glass artist whose already had his own one-man show.

Tara Brooke, whose nurtrition company CNI sells the vitamins, says she thinks this can be a great asset for parents who are too busy to make sure their kids eat the proper foods.

The fruit-punch flavored vitamins may claim to feed a kids brain, but they definitely starve a parent's pocket change: A one-month supply sells for around $40.
