Los Angeles, CA -- This past year has been electrifying for soap actress Lauren Woodland -- and not just because her character was electrocuted.

Woodland portrays Brittany Hodges on "The Young And The Restless" and, so far, this season her character has gone from being an aspiring singer to part-time stripper to an electrocuted patient.

She doesn't mind portraying a stripper, since the writers used it as an excuse to do show tunes, but admits it was harder to portray being electrocuted because she didn't want it to "...look like a cartoon."

Try as she might, Woodland was unable to find footage of a real electrocution so she resorted to "shaking a lot before passing out" which she says "...is what all the books say happens during electrocution anyway."

Now that the shock of playing electrocuted is over, Woodland has a new challenge: She's nominated for a Daytime Emmy and is figuring out a way to sneak her pet Maltese, Cheekie, into the May 21 awards ceremony as her date.
