San Antonio, TX -- A San Antonio arthritis specialist is offering his patients a different sort of prescription: Lots and lots of sex.

Dr. Joel Rutstein says sex is like medication for arthritis because endorphins released in the brain at the moment of climax are excellent pain relievers.

He recommends patients, "have as many orgasms as they can every day" because that can reduce the need for pain medication.

However, arthritic types who want to try this treat of a treatment are advised to plan it out well beforehand to reduce the chances of suffering while in between the sheets.

Dr. Rutstein tells his patients to take a pain pill 30 minutes before sex and loosen up tight joints with a hot bath or massage. Standard sex positions may also be uncomfortable, so he recommends experimenting with placement of the body, props and sex toys.

The doc is such a proponent of the healing power of making love that he's produced a video titled "Pleasurable Sex and Arthritis," which hits on all the points passion-seekers need to know to get around arthritis.
