Flock Of Runners Expected For 'Run-Hit Wonder' Marathon

Los Angeles, CA -- Rock and roll will become "rock and run" in Los Angeles.

The city is organizing its second annual "Run Hit Wonder" marathon, which famous one hit wonders singing their one and only hit at various checkpoints during the 5-kilometer race.

Some of the bands who will be running off at the mouth include "Wild Thing" rapper Tone Loc; "Whip It" legends Devo and A Flock Of Seagulls is expected to sing "I Ran."

The music connection doesn't end there. Many of the runners training for the event call themselves "groupies" and refer to their coaches as "roadies."

The Run Hit Wonder marathon takes place April 25 and similar song-filled events are planned for New York, Chicago and Portland, Oregon.
