'High Times' Has Political Ambitions For Higher Office

New York, NY -- "High Times" magazine has long been the bible for the college pothead but now the magazine has higher ambitions.

Recent issues are showing a more political slant and are weeding out the pictures of pot that have long been a magazine trademark.

"High Times" editor Steve Bloom says the magazine still features marijuana but editors want to attract more readers who smoke pot but want to read news of substance.

"High Times" isn't throwing out the baby with the bongwater. The mag is spinning off a new magazine, "High Times: Grow America," for those loyal readers who Bloom says "...define themselves as pure potheads."

Initial reaction has been good but Bloom admits it may take a few issues before adult potheads are willing to take another look at the new "High Times."
