Milwaukee, WI -- Passions are running high over "The Passion of the Christ" -- including a passion for costumes in the image of Christ.

In fact, one online retailer which sells biblical costumes is reporting that sales of Jesus wigs, masks and robes are up 86 percent since Mel Gibson's movie first hit theaters.

Diana Krohn of BuyCostumes.com says company sales often correlate to whatever is going on in popular culture at the time, and the fall-out from this movie has been tremendous.

Not only are people wanting to wear masks and wigs which make them look like the Savior, sales of crowns of thorns are up 240 percent from three months ago.

In Krohn's words, "That wasn't really a popular product before."

She believes most of the new Christ costume buyers are using them in church recitals, but thinks the "fan club" aspect is also at work for some.
