The Alamo To Host Texas' Biggest Movie Premiere

San Antonio, TX -- They do everything bigger in Texas -- including movie premieres.

This Saturday (Mar. 27), Touchstone Pictures is holding the largest premiere in Texas state history for the Billy Bob Thornton/Dennis Quaid movie, "The Alamo."

More than 1500 Texans are expected to attend the gala party, which will take place at the very site of the events depicted in the movie and will boast the longest VIP entry carpet of any Hollywood premiere.

Guests including Sam Donaldson, Faith Hill and the members of ZZ Top will be given tours of the Alamo in between the film screening, a concert featuring local country and Tejano music, and a buffet of barbecued beef, stuffed quail, corn pudding and the local cocktail, prickly pear margaritas.

"The Alamo," which also stars Jason Patric, opens April 9.
