TV Hunting Shows Are Making Outdoorsman Die -- Of Boredom

Southampton, NY -- TV hunting shows may have their fans but they're causing one extreme outdoorsman to die -- of boredom.

Adventurer Tred Barta says most of the outdoor-oriented shows on TV these days are "canned and sponsored" with little to do with what really happens in nature.

Barta -- who describes himself as "bad as an old fart" -- hopes to change things by taking matters into his own hands with his new show on Fox Sports Net, "The Best And Worst Of Tred Barta."

Barta believes "... in doing things the hardest way." Therefore, one episode has him killing a buffalo with a longbow and homemade wooden arrows, while another has him knifing a wild boar.

It's more explicit than most hunting shows but that's bloody well fine with Barta. He thinks showing the blood and guts of hunting will help drive home his philosophy that "...the fastest, strongest and most aggressive are the ones alive at the end of the day."

"The Best And Worst Of Tred Barta" debuts April 9.
