British Cult Leader Coming To America To Recruit

London, England -- The head of a British cult will be in America next month recruiting members for his "Karma Army."

Twenty-seven-year-old Danny Wallace began his cult four years ago out of boredom when he took out a newspaper ad that simply read "Join Me."

With no explanation, he asked folks to send him a passport sized snapshot of themselves and to, his surprise, people joined him to the tune of 6,000 world-wide.

Wallace says after membership kept growing he had to decide what to do with his cult so he dubbed them the Karma Army and asked his joiners to perform random acts of kindness every Friday, which he calls "Good Fridays."

Some acts are truly random, like when members came together to buy a cow for an Indian farmer or sent 80 bags of peanuts to an old man who loved goobers.

On March 1, Wallace will arrive in the U.S. on a book tour to promote his account of the cult, "Join Me!" (Plume), and says his goal is to yank 6,000 Yanks into his army.
