Interest Cool In The Real Cold Mountain

Cold Mountain, NC -- Inn owners are trying to get folks to warm up to the real Cold Mountain, North Carolina.

Local hotels are seeking to recruit travel writers to visit the location depicted in Jude Law and Nicole Kidman's new movie "Cold Mountain" -- which was actually filmed in Romania.

The Swag Country Inn, a string of six hand-hewn log buildings dating back to 1795, is one Cold Mountain establishment hoping tourism will increase.

But spokesman Tom Swanson says it's difficult to determine if the movie will drive people to the mountain yet because the inn remains closed during the winter.

By May, when the flowers are in bloom, Swanson expects to know if the movie will have created a stir.

In the meantime, he says they have been mostly getting inquiries from reporters.
