Outdoor Channel Has Gone Fishin'

Temecula, CA -- One lucky fan of fishing is about to get reeled in "American Idol"-style during a fishing show talent search for The Outdoor Channel.

Only five contestants remain in the cable network's second annual "Win Your Own Fishing Show Contest," and the final decision is in the hands of viewers who will vote online at outdoorchannel.com

The winner will host one episode of a fishing show and they'll have to be a "reel" catch, says Erik Redmond, events manager at the channel.

Redmond says most people think fishing fans aren't big talkers, but to make a splash in the fishing show he says the contenders have to be knowledgeable, engaging and relatively entertaining.

The winner will be announced February 13 and the episode will air this summer.
