Dat Phan: Last Comic Standing...In The Bathroom

Las Vegas, NV -- They say inspiration strikes in the funniest places -- and that's certainly true for Dat Phan, the comedian who won NBC's "Last Comic Standing" competition.

The 28-year-old says he often gets his best ideas for his act while he's in the bathroom, which is unusual since, in his words, "I don't even use toilet humor!"

However, he says he's often at his most meditative while he's in the bathroom, particularly when he's shampooing his hair -- and that's when the ideas start flowing.

Phan admits new gags sometimes come to mind while he's peeing, and he has to "hurry up and finish so I can write down the joke."

Shaving is also an activity that gets his mind wandering about topics that end up in his act, like dating and women.

Phan might be doing more contemplation in the loo now, because he's gearing up for his own special on Comedy Central. "Comedy Central Presents: Dat Phan" will air Jan. 30.
