Croc Hunter's Animal Defense: 'The Force'

Queensland, Australia -- There's been a lot of hullabaloo over "Croc Hunter" Steve Irwin since he fed a crocodile while clutching his baby son -- especially since he says he'd gladly do it again to teach the infant about animal safety.

But while many folks thought the "educational" stunt looked like child abuse, the little tot might've been more safe than you think, thanks to Mr. Irwin's supernatural powers.

You see, the Croc Hunter claims he and Luke Skywalker have something in common: They both use "The Force."

In a 1999 interview with Wireless Flash News Service, Irwin claimed he has a sixth sense similar to "The Force" that allows him to figure out exactly what an animal is thinking.

He said the talent came in handy for all sorts of seemingly risky animal encounters, whether he's roping a wild crocodile or catching a 5-foot-long poisonous snake.

Mr. Irwin couldn't be reached for comment on whether he was using "The Force" when he held his baby and fed the crocodile, but one can only assume it's a 24-hour-a-day thing.
