Negril, Jamaica (WFN) -- A lot of people go to Jamaica to get a tan -- but for the past few months, some folks were going there to get flu shots.

This past November, the Grand Lido Negril Resort started offering a "Good Health" package where guests could get a flu shot while on vacation.

There may have been a shortage of the flu vaccine in the U.S., but Grand Lido spokeswoman Zein Nakash says there is plenty in Jamaica and the tropical climate means the flu is "not a problem here."

Although Nakash says most of the people who got vaccinated did it in the office of the resort's nurse, some guests opted for shots while sunning themselves by the pool or beach.

In addition, tourists had the option of getting injected while at the hotel bar, but "not if they were drinking."

The flu shot promotion just wrapped up and Nakash says it was a real shot in the arm for the resort.
