Beverly Hills, CA -- A weight loss expert is predicting 98 percent of folks who make a resolution to lose weight this year will fail in their attempt within three weeks.

Suzy Prudden has been helping people lose weight since 1965 and she says every year a flood of folks who've failed at their New Year's pledges come in to her office in the third week of January.

The reason is simple: People want to see immediate results on their diet and get frustrated when they don't -- even though it probably took them 20 years to gradually gain their weight.

Another factor that ensures failure is the holiday season.

Folks usually make their resolutions when they're fed up with rich holiday treats like egg nog and fruitcake, but it only takes a few weeks for them to start craving sweet, fatty foods again.

Prudden says the key to weight loss is breaking the bad diet habits you've formed throughout your life, which she accomplishes with her clients by using hypnosis.
