New York, NY (WFN) -- A college poker course may be in the cards for students who want to learn how to play the betting game. That's according to former World Series of Poker champ Brad Dougherty, who says he will proposition colleges such as Columbia and Stanford within the next few weeks to offer a "Poker 101" course. Dougherty -- who recently launched a poker school on empirepoker.com -- believes there's a "really high-chance" that colleges will want to offer these kinds of courses, possibly as early as the spring semester. In his words, "College kids are jumping at the chance to learn to play poker these days and I think some colleges are jumping at the chance to offer it to them." Although the class is in the early stages of development, Dougherty says the basics of the game will be covered -- such as the different poker games and when and when not to bluff. He adds "We're gambling that we'll get it in there by the next semester and we hope that kids can even get credits for it."
