Honolulu, HI (WFN) -- A Christmas tree shortage in Hawaii has sent pine prices through the roof. Prices jumped to $200 a tree which has buyers crying foul saying that prices doubled overnight. The shortage is being blamed on trying to compensate for overbuying last year, but retailers are now aware that this year they've under bought. SAN FRANCISCO -- A Styrofoam cup and the water allegedly once drank from by Elvis Presley is being auctioned off on eBay. The seller claims that after a February 22, 1977, concert in Charlotte, North Carolina, she approached the stage and sweet-talked a security guard into handing her the cup the King drank from. The woman claims the water was frozen in a freezer until 1987 when she transferred it to a bottle. As of yesterday, the auction had drawn 9,000 hits, five bids and reached $255. TOKYO -- Japanese citizens are getting a real education about their school teachers from the Mainichi Daily News. The newspaper reports that 500 instructors were found "incompetent" this year, including a sixth grade teacher who wrote sexy graffiti about one of his students; the high school teacher who made a student who fell asleep in class write an apology in his own blood; and the teacher who kept drugs in his classroom to ensure his family wouldn't find them.
