San Diego, CA -- Are you going on a first date after a long time out of the dating scene? Well, what you do before the date may be as important as the date itself.

Dating expert Andrea McGinty, who runs the It's Just Lunch dating service, says many singles stress out so much before a first date that they are too agitated during the actual encounter to make a good impression or enjoy themselves.

That's why she suggests that on the day before a first date, singles make a date with themselves to do something relaxing like a massage or manicure.

In her words, "People usually feel good after those things and the relaxation carries over to the date itself."

But if the massage doesn't do the trick, McGinty says one surefire way to have a good first date is to have a drink at a transvestite bar.

McGinty discusses other good first date options in the "It's Just Lunch Guide To Dating" (10 Finger Press), a series of books featuring dating options in 70 different cities.
