Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- Film fans are having a hard time handicapping this year's Oscar race -- but it's even more difficult for the people who want to determine the year's worst movies. That's the quandary facing John Wilson, the president of the Golden Raspberry Awards, an annual award given to top cinematic stinkers. In years past, he says Razzie voters had clear cut qualifiers like "Showgirls, Gigli" or "Battlefield: Earth." This year, handicapping the horrible is a little harder, despite the presence of Halle Berry's "Catwoman" flick. Wilson is still waiting to see which year-end blockbuster will get razzed but says the smart money is on "Alexander" even though "The Polar Express" could get votes for being "creepy, strange and nightmarish." Adding more confusion: Ben Affleck has two films in contention for Razzies: "Jersey Girl" and "Surviving Christmas." But fans of bad movies will have to wait because Wilson won't announce Razzie nominations until Jan. 24, one day before the Oscar nominations. In the meantime, he discusses bad movies of the past in a new book, "The Official Razzie Movie Guide" (Warner Books), which hits stores on Jan. 3.
