Los Angeles, CA -- Sometimes a personal low point is a high point for the rest of the world.

Just ask Ashlee Simpson. Her now-infamous lip-synching incident on "Saturday Night Live" has been picked as one of the greatest moments in television during the past year by editors at "TV Guide."

Editor Greg Evans, who was on the committee which selected the top 10 moments of 2004, says a great TV moment has two qualities: It grabs your attention and keeps people talking for days afterward.

Simpson's slip-up definitely had both those qualities, but it also happened to be a really embarrassing moment for the singer -- which Evans says made great TV because the audience found themselves thinking, "we caught you!"

The rest of the memorable moments will appear on an ABC-TV special Dec. 20, "TV Guide's Greatest Moments 2004," as well as in a companion issue of "TV Guide."
