New York, NY -- Billy Crystal is stretching out from movies into the record business with a new music and video tribute to his uncle, record producer Milt Gabler, a pioneering record executive. The release, "Billy Crystal Presents: The Milt Gabler Story," hits stores Jan. 11 and features recordings by Bill Haley, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Sammy Davis, Jr. LOS ANGELES -- Tom Cruise is cruising to a lifetime achievement award. The "Collateral" star will be awarded something called the "Distinguished Career Achievement in Performing Arts" honor by the Broadcast Film Critics Association. Cruise will officially receive the award on Jan. 10 during an awards ceremony that will be telecast on the WB network. LOS ANGELES -- U2 is still topping the charts as well as this year's inductees into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. The Irish rockers will be joined by the Pretenders, the O'Jays, blues guitarist Buddy Guy and Percy Sledge of "When A Man Loves A Woman" fame. The official ceremony takes place Mar. 14 in New York. KINGSTON, Jamaica -- Members of the Bob Marley estate are lobbying the government to proclaim the dead reggae singer a national hero, Jamaica's highest honor, and have his birthday -- Feb. 6 -- declared a national holiday. Only seven Jamaicans have been named national heroes, including civil rights leader Marcus Garvey.
