Waltham, MA (WFN) -- Janet Jackson put her best boob forward to implant herself on the top of one annual list.

The internet search engine's Lycos' top 50 search terms for the year 2004 which has just been released, Jackson topped the chart followed by Paris Hilton, Clay Aiken and Britney Spears.

In the first 24 hours following Jackson's "nipplegate" controversy, "Janet Jackson and the Super Bowl halftime show" received 60 times as many searches as there were for the entire year for "Paris Hilton sex tape" and 80 times more requests than for "Britney Spears."

But Jackson's "nipplegate" at the Super Bowl earned her only 14 straight weeks on The Lycos 50 and two weeks in the no. 1 spot, but she generated so much search activity in those two weeks that she easily beat out her competition.

In contrast, Hilton appeared on The Lycos 50 for 60 consecutive weeks while Aiken stayed in the top 50 for 81 consecutive weeks at position no. 3.

Still, Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" is the most searched topic in the history of the internet.
