Casselton, ND (WFN) -- A winery in North Dakota is adding a blossoming taste to their already unique list of wines that include apple jalapeno pepper and apple cinnamon wines. Maple River Winery has just released a Dandelion wine, which tastes like what winery spokesman Greg Kempel calls "a cross between a chardonnay and corn on the cob." The wine is made with beet sugar and -- you guessed it, crushed dandelions. It joins other unique wines the three-year-old winery has developed such as the Apple Jalepeno Wine, which Kempel says is "not too spicy" and "you'll get the taste of apple on the tip of your tongue and the taste of jalepeno everywhere else." Kempel says they plan on coming out with more never head of wines in the future, including an apple/strawberry and carrot wine next year. In Kempel's words, "We can't produce the wines Napa Valley can produce, but I think the wines we make out of the native fruits of North Dakota are second to none in the world."
