Las Vegas, NV (WFN) -- While nominations for Academy Awards are more than a month a way, a Las Vegas oddsmaker is already making his picks for who will win the awards.

Wayne Allen Root, a professional oddsmaker for a Las Vegas-based handicapping firm, is picking "Aviator," starring Leonardo DiCaprio, as the early favorite for an Oscar for Best Picture with 3 to 1 odds, followed by Johnny Depp's "Finding Neverland" with 5 to 1 odds.

Root also gives Depp the best chance to win the Best Actor award: 3 to 1 odds to win the award for his work in "Neverland" while Jamie Foxx has a 4 to 1 chance to win for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the biopic, "Ray."

Finally, Root believes Imelda Staunton is the 1 to 2 favorite to win Best Actress for her role in "Vera Drake" and Hilary Swank is a 12 to 1 sleeper for her work in the Clint Eastwood-directed flick, "Million Dollar Baby."
