New York, NY (WFN) -- "American Idol 3" runner-up Diana DeGarmo is thrilled that she's finally released her debut CD, "Blue Skies," but she credits any success to her "initial reaction" to the songs. DeGarmo worked with music industry insiders like David Foster, Desmond Child and Melissa Manchester on the tunes and says they taught her an important lesson about recording in the studio. In her words, "I learned when I'm reading the lyrics to a song to figure out who I would sing it to and put their initials on the page to remind me." She says the "initial reaction" especially came in handy when recording sad tunes like Manchester's "Don't Cry Out Loud" but she refuses to spell out exactly whose initials she sang the song too. In her words, "That's my secret."
