Boston, MA (WFN) -- It's common to meet dates online but now there's an e-mail service that will send your potential partners a letter telling them why they should date you. The so-called "Virtual Wingman" is a free service from Arriviste Press, a Boston-based publishing company, offered to "lazy, shy and boring" people who have problems closing the deal. Folks log on to arrivistepress.com and enter some basic info about themselves and the object of their affection. Within 48 hours, an e-mail arrives in your crush's mailbox extolling your virtues, such as "she likes cool music like Depeche Mode" or "he thinks you look cute in your glasses." Virtual Wingman spokeswoman Abra Nowitz says the letters are meant to be witty and claims one guy was able to hook up because of a message proclaiming he was the President of the United States. Nowitz claims the service has been responsible for hundreds of hook-ups but admits the company's letter writers shy away from writing notes that are hateful, hoaxes or from suspected stalkers.
