|
Santa Barbara, CA -- Americans who are sick of U.S. companies outsourcing overseas should be aware that the tide is turning. That's according to actor John Ratzenberger, who played know-it-all Cliff Clavin on "Cheers." Ratzenberger now hosts the Travel Channel series, "Made In America," where he visits manufacturers of American products like Powell Skateboards and the U.S. Steel Corporation. Ratzenberger claims American companies are bringing manufacturing back to U.S. shores because enough Americans have complained about the poor quality of foreign-made products. He says one appliance manufacturer, which he won't name, never had a single complaint about their quality until they moved production overseas. Meanwhile, another CEO is bringing production back to the States because he's tired of having to wake up at 4 a.m. to handle an overseas crisis. "Made in America" airs Tuesday nights.
