|
Seattle, WA (WFN) -- Today (Dec. 2) marks one month after the U.S. presidential elections, and the day is being honored in a colorful way. Two websites have been launched to give Americans facts about the states that voted "red," or Republican; and the ones that voted "blue," or Democrat. The sites are named, appropriately enough, redstateguide.com and bluestateguide.com and give info like: Britney Spears was born Dec. 2 in the red state of Louisiana. Meanwhile, in the blue state of Rhode Island, Dec. 2 is dedicated to the first synagogue in the U.S.: Touro Synagogue in New Port. The site also has a phrase decoder. For example, if you hear "Hey, it's a hoedown," in a red state, it means it's "Saturday night at a church hall." But in a blue state, the same phrase would be overheard on a Saturday night at rapper Jay Z's.
