Chicago, IL (WFN) -- Crock-Pots aren't the most sexy home appliance, but they do inspire a slow-burning passion in some cooks. And now, those with a jones for slow cookers are being asked to concoct Crock-Pot poetry for a contest sponsored by Betty Crocker Kitchens. Entrants into the so-called "Ode to Slow Cooking" contest must pen a 500-word poem dedicated to the device used by harried housewives to cook chili and pot roast. While Crock-Pots seem like a relic from the 1970s, a poll by Betty Crocker shows their use is on the rise in recent years -- 82 percent of moms admit to owning one. The contest is meant to capitalize on the revival of the old school appliance, but the grand prize is decidedly modern: A full day of pampering at a spa. Of course, the winner also gets a new slow cooker. You can enter the contest from now until Feb. 18 at BettyCrocker.com.
