New York, NY (WFN) -- Don't say actor Michael Raynor doesn't have spirit: The ghost of his dead father is directing his career.

The 43-year-old, who hasn't seen his dad in person since age seven, says he first heard from his late pop seven years ago, when he was auditioning for the Tom Hanks miniseries, "From the Earth to the Moon."

He says he'd gone through several rounds of auditions without landing a role when his father's face appeared in the sky "like a stone skipping in water" and told him, "get it!."

In that moment, Raynor says he knew he'd get the next part he was trying out for in the series -- which he did.

Now, Raynor has landed a one man show about his dad off Broadway, "Who Is Floyd Stearn?" and he says he's certain his father "engineered the whole thing" as a way to let him know how much he loves him.

He says his dad's spirit often appears in the theater and audience members have told him they can feel the old man's presence.
