Amityville, NY -- Through the years, it's been hard for plus-sized brides to find attractive dresses, but a wedding planner is hoping to change that with an upcoming book.

Chamein Canton's "Down That Aisle In Style: A Wedding Guide For Full Figured Women" (Windriver) was inspired by a disastrous dress-shopping trip she took with a pleasantly plump bride a few years ago.

The sales clerk took the woman to the back of the store and presented her with four shapeless sacks that were supposed to be wedding dresses.

Canton says she became so angry she told the shop employee, "If we wanted a tent, we'd go to an Army/Navy store."

She says experiences like this convince full-figured gals that they can't look pretty on their wedding day, but, in reality, "a size 4 bride is no happier than a size 14."

However, Canton says Star Jones' recent wedding was a "shining moment" for all plus-sized brides because, as she puts it, "it showed us we can have that glamour."
