| 2004-11-15 - Weird News Wireless Flash News Switching From Piano To Guitar Strikes Chord For A.J. Croce | ||
|
San Diego, CA (WFN) -- Piano has long been the instrument of choice for A.J. Croce, but his guitar-playing is what's striking a chord with radio. Croce -- the son of soft rock superstar Jim Croce -- has just released a new CD, "Adrian James Croce," and the song that seems to be attracting the most interest from radio, "Don't Bring Me Down," is the first tune he's ever written on guitar. One reason why the tune may be gaining popularity is because Croce trusted his one-woman musical judge, his 14-year-old daughter, Camille. He says he trusts her for many musical decisions because she's in the right age bracket and has a very good ear. But even though the guitar-based tune is becoming the biggest hit of his career, Croce has no plans to give up his first instrument. Most of the songs on the new CD were written on piano and he plans to use that instrument wherever it fits because, in his words, "I view each song as an individual painting and some require more elaborate frames than others."
