New York, NY (WFN) -- Record companies and radio stations use all sorts of techniques to determine an album's hit potential but punk pioneer Willy DeVille says there's only one method that matters: The sex test. In his words: "If you can't make love to it, it's no good." DeVille received that advice long ago from songwriting greats like "Save The Last Dance For Me" writer Doc Pomus, and says he put it to good use while recording his new CD, "Crow Jane Alley." The sex test was used throughout the entire process of making the recording "from writing the songs in the bedroom to hearing the final mix." And like many sexual encounters, DeVille ended up becoming a parent -- musically speaking, that is. In his words, "I don't want to sound like I'm tooting my own horn but I feel like I'm the mother of a beautiful, bouncing blue-eyed boy." "Crow Jane Alley," which features DeVille's remake of Bryan Ferry's hit, "Slave To Love," just hit stores.
