|
Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- While baseball player Sammy Sosa cheated by corking his bat, don't expect dogs at the upcoming National Dog Show to use similar tactics to get a leg up on the competition. The pooch show is hosted by John O'Hurley -- better known as J. Peterman from the sitcom "Seinfeld" -- and dog analyst David Frei and will boast 2000 dogs from more than 150 breeds. With that much canine competition, you'd think dog handlers may feel the need to dupe others to help their dog do well, but O'Hurley and Frei figure the handlers won't use extreme cheating tactics like doggie steroids or hair extensions. Instead, Frei says handlers who have an unsightly dog may try to make them look more appealing by using grooming tricks to turn their rover into a canine Brad Pitt. The dog show airs on NBC Nov. 25.
