Livingston, MT (WFN) -- The holiday season hasn't even started but a couple in Livingston, Montana, is already gearing up for "Chrismukkah." Ron and Michelle Gompertz are an interfaith couple who want to bring Jews and Christians together with a line of greeting cards for families who celebrate both Christmas and Hannukah. The so-called "Chrismukkah" cards combine icons from both holidays, such as a reindeer with a Hannukah menorah instead of antlers or a snowman with a yarmulke, and include interfaith seasonal sayings like "Merry Mazeltov" or "Oy joy." While the cards are meant to be whimsical, Gompertz admits some of his Jewish relatives have taken offense to the line because it reminds them there's a "dwindling number of Jews in America, mainly because of intermarriage." He has faith in his interfaith cards but admits the reaction is preventing him from pursuing another idea -- a line of cards featuring a character named "Rabbi Rabbit" celebrating a holiday called "Easterover."
