Actress Goes From Murder Spree To 'The O.C.'

Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- Next Thursday (Nov. 18) will mark a career change for actress Shannon Lucio: She's switching from murder sprees to starring on "The O.C."

Lucio will join the cast of the Fox teen drama as "Lindsey Gardner," a working-class girl who befriends series star Benjamin McKenzie.

The actress describes the role as "goody goody" and a real switch from her previous TV appearances since she usually plays villains.

For instance, she played the girlfriend to a porn-obsessed murderer on "CSI: Miami;" a homicidal young girl who kills her stepmother on "The Division;" and will soon play a teen murderess in the upcoming indie thriller "Starkweather."

In real life, Lucio insists she "...couldn't hurt a fly," but she figures she gets the murderous roles because producers want to cast "someone who doesn't seem so obvious as a murderer."
