Wind-Powered Radio Station Is A Breath Of Fresh Air

Moab, UT (WFN) -- When the Moab, Utah, radio station KZMU is on the air, it's really on the air.

The station is the first in the country to be powered entirely by energy generated by wind -- which is offered by the local power company for the cost of about $2 for every 100 kilowatt hour.

Station manager Jeff Flanders says he feels great that consumers have the ability to buy wind-powered electricity and would like to see other industries do the same.

He says, "If consumers had the option to purchase alternative-fueled cars, we'd buy them."

And he's not just blowing smoke.
