Dallas, TX (WFN) -- The walls at Johnny Ramone's house have been stripped almost bare now that his large collection of movie posters is going up for auction. The collection of 125 posters, including ads for old science fiction and horror movies like "Frankenstein""," "Dracula" and "The Day the Earth Stood Still," could fetch as much as $400,000 in two separate sales at HeritageMoviePosters.com on Nov. 18. Auction spokesman Grey Smith says the old movie poster aficionado was "very focused" on his poster collection the last five years of his life and covered the walls of his house with his treasures, leaving little room for any open space. Still, Smith says Ramone decided to sell the posters off just before his death from prostate cancer in September because he wanted to put them in appreciative hands. In Smith's words, "Johnny knew his wife wasn't going to have tremendous interest in hanging onto them."
