London, England -- A British grocer has been fined more than $6000 for illegally touting mangoes as a cancer cure. According to Reuters, the Asda supermarket chain is in hot water for labeling their mangoes with the statement: "Mangoes are a great source of vitamin C and beta carotene which are good for healthy eyes and skin. Their antioxidant properties help to fight cancer." GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The Jolly Green Giant seems to have misplaced one of his utensils. The Associated Press reports that a six-foot-high fork in Grand Forks, North Dakota, was stolen over the weekend. The mega-sized fork is one of about 50 in an "Unforkettable" collection scattered throughout the city. TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Mud-slinging is commonplace in American politics, but in Taiwan yesterday (Oct. 26), legislators resorted to food-slinging. Local TV showed the lawmakers chucking take-out boxes full of rice, meat and hardboiled eggs at each other when a scuffle broke out over whether Taiwan should spend millions of dollars buying second-hand weapons from the U.S. Female legislator Chu Fong-chi, who was caught in the food fight, shrieked to TV cameras, "My whole body smells like a lunch box!" DALLAS -- A Texas judge welcomed a former fugitive back to her courtroom with a southern shindig before she sentenced him to life in prison. Judge Faith Johnson decorated her courtroom with streamers and balloons and served cake when convict Billy Wayne Williams finally came before her bench. Williams, convicted of aggravated assault, disappeared last November just before he was supposed to appear in Johnson's courtroom. He was captured last week at a gas station in Arlington.
