San Diego, CA (WFN) -- The Boston Red Sox are in luck: They are going to win the World Series because they have fewer ex-Chicago Cubs' players on their team than the St. Louis Cardinals. That's the claim from Christian Ruzich, a sports reporter for all-baseball.com, who says the "ex-Cubs factor" is a curse that is put on a team when they have a lot of former Cubbies on their World Series roster. In fact, ever since the Cubs won their last National League pennant in 1945, only two teams with three or more ex-Cubs have won a World Series. This year, the Cardinals have three former Cubs -- Ray King, Julian Tavarez and Tony Womack -- while the Red Sox have only two: Mark Bellhorn and Bill Mueller. Ruzich believes the curse has held so strong over the years because "there is an aura of loserness in the Cubs' organization and it seems to stick with the players for the rest of their careers."
