New York, NY (WFN) -- Having a lovable pooch or an eccentric sibling could make the difference in whether John Kerry or George W. Bush wins the presidential election. That's according to Mo Rocca, pop culture historian and "The Daily Show" reporter, who will host a new History Channel special, "How They Won: Seven Secrets to Winning the Presidency". He says having a pooch has given presidential candidates a leg up on the competition: All but five presidents have owned a rover. In addition, Rocca says an eccentric family member, "a la" Roger Clinton or Billy Carter, makes candidates appear smarter, more human and able to weather a crisis. A good "mattress" of hair doesn't hurt either, says Rocca, who points out only five presidents have been bald -- including only one in the last century, Dwight D. Eisenhower. Other secrets that have determined winners and losers of the Oval Office, as well as how Kerry and Bush stack up to the tests, will be revealed on "How They Won," which airs tomorrow (Oct. 26.)
