San Francisco, CA (WFN) -- Disagreements are causing a lot of strife in the world these days, but there's at least one thing on which the world agrees: The color blue is awesome. According to a new global study which asked residents of 17 different countries to name their favorite color, blue ranks at the top of every nation's favorites by a large margin. Forty-two percent of Americans are fans of blue, and so are 47 percent of Germans and 44 percent of Brazilians. Overall, 40 percent of people worldwide picked blue -- much more than the second-most popular color, purple, which was only chosen by 14 percent. However, there aren't too many fans of white: That color ranked at the bottom of people's preferences in every country in the survey except Mexico, Brazil and China. The survey was performed by three global marketing firms: Cheskin, MSI-ITM and CMCD/Visual Symbols Library.
