| 2004-10-25 - Weird News Wireless Flash News Roger McGuinn Goes From Byrds To Dave Barry | ||
|
Orlando, FL (WFN) -- Guitar legend Roger McGuinn used to play with David Crosby but now he shares the stage with Dave Barry. The former Byrds rocker is now an honorary member of the Rock Bottom Remainders, a rock group whose line-up includes best-selling authors like Barry, Scott Turow and Amy Tan. McGuinn admits the members of his new band aren't as experienced as other musicians he has played with, but they're all "witty" and the concerts are "a lot of fun." There are other differences between the Remainders and McGuinn's other bands -- for instance, the members are more likely to discuss new books backstage rather than new groupies. The Remainders will start their latest tour, Wannapalooza, tomorrow (Oct. 26) in St. Louis and proceeds from the show will go to America SCORES, an after-school program that promotes literacy through soccer.
