Boston, MA (WFN) -- A bunch of curse-breakers will finally pay off if the Boston Red Sox win the World Series which starts tomorrow (Oct. 23). Freelance writer and Boston resident Holly Rossi is revealing some of the "curse reversers" Red Sox fans have been using this season to break the curse -- which is said to have started when Babe Ruth decreed that the Red Sox would never win another World Series after they traded him to the New York Yankees in 1920. Some fans have taken a "Reverse the Curse" bus tour where they visit Ruth's grave site and add Red Sox paraphernalia to Yankee gear already adorning the grave. And in September, a penny minted in 1918 -- the last year the Red Sox won a World Series -- was found at a Fenway Park beer counter and taped to the refrigerator for good luck. Finally, a "spiritual psychopharmacologist" concocted a curse reverser that involved live clams and Samuel Adams beer. The curse breakers may seem silly, but Rossi says they are necessary because as she puts it, "Many believe this year is the only year the Red Sox really have a chance."
