Los Angeles, CA -- A new construction-themed reality TV show is giving new meaning to the term "model citizen." The show, "Model Citizens," uses models to do construction work projects across the country. Twenty-four-year-old Gretchen Eakins, a summa cum laude graduate of Ohio State University, is one of those models. She started her career in "American Cheerleading Magazine," came to Los Angeles to pursue acting and earned a part on "Model Citizens" despite having no construction experience. She says, "I had done some decorating around the house, and worked with blades in shop class." But now Eakins has come a long way, working with chainsaws, jackhammers, sledge hammers and a Bobcat. She says she's given up on having fingernails, her legs have been "massively bruised" and she even ripped open her thumb with a framing hammer. But she says some of the other girls haven't surrendered their beauty. Eakins says, "They have lip gloss in their tool belts."
