El Segundo, CA (WFN) -- Most strippers are not run-down drug addicts who come from abusive homes. That's the naked truth from N. Kathryn Howard, author of the new book, "The Stripper Diaries "(Tenth Street Press), which centers around the world of a young female stripper. She says most pole dancers come from normal families and are "not quite as messed up as most people want to think they are." Howard knows the ins and outs of the business because she worked at a strip club for a couple of years as a bartender where she learned that most of the girls don't like the job and "only work when they have to." She hopes her book will undress some of the negative stereotypes of the business and expects to turn her story into a TV series or movie.
