St. Louis, MO (WFN) -- The 1990s alternative rock group Better Than Ezra will be carrying the torch for John Kerry tonight (Oct. 8). The band that gave the world the 1995 hit, "Good," will be opening for Kerry before he delivers a stump speech to supporters in St. Louis after tonight's presidential debates. Lead singer Kevin Griffin has high hopes that Kerry's previous career as a bass player in a band called the Electras will influence his presidency because, as he puts it, "being in a band requires the ability to read people and work with others." Griffin hopes to convince the Democratic nominee to jam with the band on "Louie, Louie" but says Kerry's advisers have suggested they learn "Johnny B. Goode" instead. But Better Than Ezra aren't just campaigning for Kerry these days. The group just released a new CD, "Live At House Of Blues New Orleans," and will issue a new studio album in March.
